While January is the time that most people make their New Year Resolutions, September is traditionally a time for educational new beginnings. Maybe you want to enhance your business skills, gain a qualification, or even just learn a new skill for fun? There are a myriad of options for adult education available across our region to suit every schedule and budget.
Enhance your business skills
Our region has two of the most well-respected business schools in the country, offering everything from professional certification in coaching & mentoring, marketing or HR, or full business masters degrees. Check out the courses on offer from The University of Wolverhampton Business School and Aston Business School.
Learn a new language
If you’re thinking of learning a new language, our region has the largest specialist language adult education centre in the UK, Brasshouse Languages based at the Library of Birmingham. Whether it’s just for fun, to help you communicate with the locals on holiday, or for professional purposes to help you trade in global markets, they have courses suitable for everyone. View their list of language courses here.
Discover your creative side
If it’s a creative outlet you’re after, then the MAC in Birmingham’s Canon Hill Park should be your first port of call. With courses on everything from dance, to photography, to music, to art, there’s something to suit everyone. Learning a new creative skill can be great for your mental health, and can also help you to think differently and more imaginatively, which can help you in your work too. Check out the MAC’s creative course offer here.
